Compliance
Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, but compounding is expressly permitted under federal law (Section 503A of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act) when a licensed pharmacy fills a prescription for an individual patient. A compounded formulation may differ from a commercially manufactured product, so we only prescribe one when there is a clinical reason a commercial product is not the right fit.
The FDA resolved the semaglutide shortage on April 22, 2025. Compounding is permitted only for individually identified patients when a prescribing practitioner determines that the compounded preparation produces a significant difference for their patient compared to the FDA-approved product.
General
Three ways to request care: an online request a doctor reviews without an appointment where the state allows it, a written message to the doctor, or a video visit. Where a state requires a live visit, the doctor meets you by video.
Gentle Health is a telehealth platform, not a pharmacy. Every prescription is reviewed and written by James Simmons, MD, a board-certified emergency medicine physician and the Medical Director, licensed in all 40 states and DC that Gentle serves. A licensed US pharmacy dispenses the medication.
Cancellation and Refund
Brand-name care has no minimum and no wait. Cancelling takes effect immediately and stops future billing and shipments.
